Spring is busting out all over Hudson Valley, and no more apparent than on Main Street in Beacon this Second Saturday weekend. The weatherman has promised fair temperatures under sunny skies, perfect for taking mom for a stroll to visit some of the events happening on Main Street this weekend (and don't forget to stop for lunch!):
Saturday on the west end of town...
The Muddy Cup presents "Hudson Valley Landmarks and Landscapes", artworks by the artists of the Beacon Fine Arts Guild (of the Beacon Community Center and assisted by BACA). Meet the artists at a reception Saturday from 2 - 4p.
Fovea will have a free screening of the documentary film"Vanishing Giants", followed by a question and answer session. The film begins at 5p. Seating is limited.
Hudson Beach Glass Gallery presents ceramicist Joy Brown; artist's reception from 6-8p.
RiverWinds Gallery presents "Wanderings", paintings by Carol Douglas and Shelli Robiner-Ardizzone; artist's reception from 5-8p.
Mt Beacon Fine Arts will have a reception from 6-9p for "On The Road" arists Erica Hauser and Jim Zellinger.
Pearl Daddy is showing "The Best Medicine: Paintings and Sculpture by Edie Nadelhoft", with a reception for the artist from 6-9p.
On the east end...
Go North opens "Aftermath" with work by Erik Hanson; artist's reception from 6-9p.
Exhibitions by Bob Marty, Stanford Kay and Gary Jacketti continues its run at Van Brunt Gallery.
The Howland Cultural Center exhibits 15 artists in "In Love With Nature, the Art of Emotionalism". Drop in for a free concert with singer/songwriter Paul Lukowsksi and a cup of joe.

One of Beacon's shops or galleries has the perfect gift for your mom (Allium, the new gift shop is now open - or how about chocolates from Alps?). There is still time to find it - but make sure you take time to stop and smell the spring blooms...
